FA Umbro Trophy 1996-97

Exemptions

Clubs are granted exemption to the later rounds of the competition based upon their league status or their performance in recent competitions. The 22 Vauxhall Conference clubs are exempt to the First Round, along with 10 other clubs with the best recent record. The 32 clubs with then next best records are exempt to the 3rd Qualifying Round.
