The FA Umbro Trophy

The FA Umbro Trophy is a national knock-out competition for the country's top semi-professional clubs. Clubs from levels 1-3 of the pyramid (Vauxhaul Conference, all Dr Martens League and Unibond League clubs and the top two divisions of the Isthmian League) take part in it. The Trophy was introduced in 1969 to provide a national competion for the non-League professional clubs (i.e. those who were not members of the Football League) who were ineligible to take part in the old Amateur Cup.
