Note that the original Accrington Stanley club disbanded and a new club with the same name was formed shortly after. The original club is distinguished by the mark (¹). Similarly Bootle is not the same club which appeared in the Football League in the 19th Century, nor is it the same club which currently plays in the North West Trains League and Colne is not the same club as the one currently playing in the North West Trains League.
